J.A.Z. is a jazz/funk/experimental trio driven by Jerry Stinar's funk-inspired rhythms, the grooving taste of Aaron Bannin on bass, and the creative direction of Zach Bardon on keys. All recordings are first take, with little or no rehearsal beforehand, to let the music evolve as it will. J.A.Z. ventures in many directions, but never loses its connection to its home genre -- the jazz trio. Jazz ballads, fusion grooves, smooth jazz, experimental ideas -- all are treated separately, yet speaking the same language.
